MACARONs!!! Sometimes I wonder if they are meant to make or break me...
These challenging french cookies are the only treats that took more than 2 tries to get right. Realistically, this week would be by 6th or 7th time trying to perfect this cookie.
I am going to be completely honest here...every single time I make this and it fails, I get really upset and annoyed just trying to figure out what went wrong during the whole process. After many times of making this same thing over and over again, I honestly feel like giving up. Maybe some of you may be able to relate to this. After failing so many times, what is the point in continuing? I struggle with this quite a bit but somehow manage to find the strength and the willingness to try again. I guess it is the fact that I really want to perfect the recipe and know that I can do it.
This time, I decided to use @cupcakejemma macaron recipe as she provided step by step instructions as well as the Do's and Dont's when making macarons. The making process went generally quite well. Unfortunately, after baking, only half the batch worked successfully. The other half had flat feet and did not bake all the way through. I was partially disappointed since I expected the whole batch to work out well. I have yet to find out what went wrong during the baking process and will probably give this recipe another go next time!
Overall, I was thankful that at least some macarons came out the way I wanted it to. With a simple chocolate ganache (72% cocoa) made up of dark chocolate and condensed milk, I was pleased with the taste as the dark chocolate managed to balance out the sweetness of the macaron shell- which if you didn't know, contains loads and loads of icing sugar😁.
Once again, I am reminded of how trials are part of our life. Without trials, we won't learn and grow to become a better version of ourself. This is one trial I have yet to overcome and can't wait to experience a breakthrough with these macarons:)

These trials happen both in the baking world as well as our personal lives. Just want to encourage all of you that no matter the trial, we are here to support each other. But most importantly, God is there with you. He wants to help you overcome that trial.
Love all of you lots and I hope that this has encouraged you to never give up! Have a great week ahead and may God continue to bless you:)
Cheers, Bake to Bless :)
