King of flavours: Chocolate

You know how everyone says that the king of the jungle is a lion? Well do you know what the king of flavours is? CHOCOLATE!!! I would say that it is the most popular decadent, gooey, flavourful, luscious and extremely DELICIOUS element that plays such a HUGE role in the dessert world. Be it being a garnish, sauce, main dish, texture, flavour and etc...

In my entire baking journey, I have used chocolate in multiple desserts such as chocolate tarts, chocolate chip cookies, fudgy brownies, red velvet cupcakes, Chocolate Banana cupcakes, chocolate cake and chocolate crinkle cookies. This one element is so popular and famous in different deserts and can be found in nearly every bakery in the world.

How is chocolate made? It's actually really simple. Chocolate is basically roasted and grounded cacao seeds that can be found in different forms. Though it is so simple to make, it has a purpose too. Its purpose is to provide flavour to what we eat, allowing us to feel happy and excited when we are eating it. (at least for most people who love chocolate:))

HERE ARE MY TOP 3 FAVOURITE CHOCOLATE DISHES:

Chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream

Loving this decadent moist, gooey chocolate cake with a scoop of cold smooth ice cream. All of the flavours in this dish really work well together, complimenting the flavours and still emphasising the chocolate in the dish as a main focus. The chocolate Lava cake has some technicality to it when it comes to baking. However, it is fairly simple to make the batter. Eating this fresh out of the oven is the best!

Chocolate chip cookies with fresh milk

Simple, famous and typical. Chocolate chip cookies are found EVERYWHERE! It is easy to bake and has multiple variations to it. My personal favourite is a cookie with a crispy exterior and chewy center. I love to dip these amazing cookies in cold fresh milk! it just brings back so many memories of childhood and the idea of 'snack time'. It is soo easy to make! only requiring simple ingredients such as flour, butter, sugar and eggs.

Chocolate mousse with a cake sponge

I have never made this dessert before. However, it is still one of my favourites. I love how the mousse is light and fluffy, not too sweet and tastes absolutely amazing with a layer of cake sponge. Though this dessert is simple to make, it requires technique to ensure consistency in the mousse so that it will be smooth and silky!!

Today's blog is simple and straight forward, bringing out what I love about chocolate. This one element has played such a important role in my baking journey and I cant wait to experiment with this flavour for many more desserts!!!

Despite what is happening around us, I believe it is still important to not worry and still have fun! If you are stuck at home with nothing to do, try out different recipes and #baketobless to show me what you have created over these few days. Let us continue to work together and encourage each other amidst the virus:)) Hope everyone is safe and healthy:)) Love you all and see you in my next blog! God bless!

On a side note...look forward to the next blog as it will be a special edition to bring in my very own CAKE!!!
