From HOBBY to PASSION

Welcome to the bakeTobless family...Hello everyone!!! Welcome to my very first Christian centered baking blog, BaketoBless:)

I would first like to clarify with everyone that I am not a professional and I am just an amateur baker hoping to make a difference through this platform.

Creating this blog is the next step for me to share with everyone my journey in baking and what I have learned in the kitchen.

I certainly don't want this blog to be just about what I bake, but also about my journey in life and how I can handle and cope with it.

THE ORIGIN OF MY LOVE FOR BAKING... It has been a very special and interesting journey for me all these years when it comes to baking. Many friends who personally know me know that since I was a kid, I loved food and baking.

My love for baking started when I was a little kid. I saw my mum bake cakes and treats for me and my siblings' birthday parties. As a little kid, I was amazed by how my mum could create such amazing and pretty cakes for us using such simple ingredients. This caused me to be extremely interested, thus as the years went by, I became more and more inclined to want to learn how to bake.

Of course, as a kid, I had to learn how to bake with my mums' help. This tested my patience and attentiveness when watching her bake so that I will be able to learn all the important skills and techniques.

At around the age of 10-12, my passion for baking grew. I was able to be independent in the kitchen and bake simple treats such as banana chocolate chip muffins and cookies. It was then when I found out that baking was now my hobby.

Over the years, I started to expose myself too much more advanced baking skills and techniques. This tested my perseverance and pushed me out of my comfort zone. During my recent teen years, I started steering my ship: Baking became something I LOVED doing independently as a hobby. I loved the idea of mixing, whisking, folding, weighing and pouring. All of these just drew me closer and closer to wanting to deepen my understanding of the art of baking.

However, during this period, I was stressed and felt that every time I baked, it was unsuccessful or did not meet up to my expectations. At one point, I nearly wanted to give up and stop baking. That was when God spoke to me and said...

"Giving up only stops you from learning how to persevere"

It may not have the same impact for you as it had for me. But because of God's reminder, it encouraged me to persevere and not give up despite the challenges that I had faced.

FINDING BAKETOBLESS...Eventually, as I became more inclined to baking, I realized that it was no longer just a hobby but a Passion!! I wanted to do more than just bake food for my friends and family to eat. I wanted to do more. I wanted to reach out to others and use my baking skills to bless those around me. That's when I created my Instagram account @bake_to_bless on 15 November 2019. I use this account to post pictures of what I have baked and what new skills I may have learned through this process.

I have so many more dreams and aspirations for BaketoBless. I hope that even as you journey with me, you will also be able to learn with me and grow with me not only through skills but character and values as well!!!

I am excited to see how this blog will turn out and hope that I can use this blog as a platform to reach out to others. Thank you to all my friends and family who have supported me all this while. I hope that together, we can make a difference in the world:))
